Oasis

Brooke and I went to this really cool little park north east of tucson. It was basically an oasis like you see in the movies. There were just these giant palm trees and swamp/pond in the middle of no where. Then if you followed a stream 50 yards up it just stops into a bubbling spring. Needless to say it was really cool. There was a huge pond with ducks and frogs, and we got to see great horned owls chicks. When we pulled up we could see a guy with a tripod pointing his camera at a palm tree. We got closer to ask him what he was looking at and he showed us. 3 great horned owl chicks. The mother was around he said earlier, but he didn't know what had happened to her. So we enjoyed our time by the pond for a little while. I could have gotten better pics of the owls if i had a longer lens, but alas that will have to weight for another day.

20 Dollar Camera Fun

So i bought pretty much one of the cheepest non disposable cameras out there. Its a holga. To give you a little course on what a holga is, i'll explane that to you right now. The holga was invented to bring the freedom of photography to china. Its a plastic camera, with a plastic lens. It has two shutter speeds. One is around 1/250 of a second (i think), the other is the bulb (how ever long you want the shutter to be). It also runs on 120 film so it shoots 6x6 square imagines. It only has one appature, and is made really cheeply. All these things make the holga so much fun. The holga is a delight to artists because of its weird image quality. It also takes all the control of a normal camera away from you. Therefore you need to focus more on the composition of the picture, rather then things like shutter speed and appature. It pretty much makes you think more about the picture and not so much about the technical crap. I shot some black and white and i must say. I'm a fan.

Let’s Make it 3!!!

Will it be a ‘TREY’ or Daddy’s ‘TRES hijas’ in the making? We won’t know until some time after October 12 (Kerry has been late with both Abbi & Sadie), but one thing is for sure: a bun IS in the “oven.”

Heart Beats: 163 (Highest yet; Abbi & Sadie were about 150ish)

Kerry is 12 weeks along!
